[It's a shame Akira doesn't seem to remember their little trip. There was plenty of bickering on the car ride as always, but it was definitely fun, too.]

He obviously recognised me, but then claimed he mistook me for someone else. I find it unsettling that someone who seems so friendly can tell such barefaced lies.

[It's par for the course for the kind of adults they're used to dealing with, but all the same...]

He must have been a powerful enemy. Does he have a Palace?

He is, well...

[ It's hard to talk about it. From his point of view, Maruki has realized what he has done, come to terms with it and everyone has moved on. Yet here they are, to witness the history to repeat itself, here of all places.

Yusuke's observations are as sharp as always, however. ]

Unfortunately, he's really good at hiding things. [ Who would have expected a goofy counselor to turn out this way in the first place? ] And he is powerful. Really powerful.

[ Dropping the alternative reality bomb feels like a bit too much here. ]

He had a palace. [ Akira shakes his head. ] Maybe still do, but not here. I hope so, at least. He has his heart in the right place despite everything, just...I feel like he might be up to something.

I suppose it is possible to have a Palace without necessarily being evil, as we discovered.

[Futaba being the prime example, and -- to a lesser extent -- Sae Niijima, too.]

If you say he could be up to something, I believe you, but what are his motives? What could he want here that he couldn't achieve in our world?

I feel like he wants to do the same thing again. He won't hesitate to force his idea of happiness onto other people, taking their freedom away while at it. I am not sure how he's going to do it without his powers, though.

[ Technically, they've been told that their powers were taken away and that it applies to everyone. What if there is some way to regain them, however? Akira frowns, not even bothering to hide his concern. ]

I wonder...can we change his ways without stealing his heart?
