PERSONALITY:

• ARTISTIC: Yusuke's life is centred around art, and the pursuit of beauty. Everything he does furthers his goal of honing himself as an artist: becoming a student under a famous painter, gaining an art scholarship, seeing beautiful sights, expanding his intellectual horizons, and even joining the Phantom Thieves. This gives him a unique way of perceiving the world from outside the box, though such a mindset does often make him single-minded to the point of obsession.
  
  
• ECCENTRIC: Having been sheltered for most of his life, social norms are all but lost on Yusuke. He marches to the beat of his own drum, which tends to alienate those around him, further disinclining Yusuke from interacting with ordinary people on their level. Whether it's mumbling to himself in public or asking a friend to strip in a church for his latest art project, he follows wherever his creative impulses take him, for better or for worse.
  
  
• HAUGHTY: While Yusuke tries not to look down on those who don't fully understand art, believing beauty to be in the eye of the beholder, he's scornful towards those who upset his aesthetic sensibilities. This can be in appearance, or simply those he sees as rude, ignorant or ill-mannered. His cold response can make him seem arrogant and condescending, and he can sometimes be blunt to those who offend him to the point of being callously insensitive.
  
  
• LOYAL: Once someone has earned Yusuke's trust instead of simply dismissing him as strange, Yusuke is deeply loyal. He'll always strive to repay his debts where he feels they're owed, and due to his forthright nature, he can always be trusted to be sincere. Conversely, there are few things that anger him more than insincerity or betrayal. Once he's able to lower his guard, he has a kind, warm and gentle personality, and does not shy away from expressing his fondness for others.
  
  
• ABSENT-MINDED: Because Yusuke's head is often in the clouds, it's hard for him to keep his feet on the ground when it comes to more practical matters. Due to his neglectful upbringing and his obsession with art, he's extremely poor at taking care of himself -- "starving artist" pretty much summarises it. He never has enough money for food or transport, and will often sacrifice those things to buy art supplies or anything beautiful that strikes his fancy. Due to his overall inability to take care of himself, he leads a precarious existence, often veering between extreme hunger or exhaustion when he forgets his needs.
  
  
• JUSTICE: Despite being seemingly disconnected from reality, Yusuke has a strong sense of justice that compels him to join the Phantom Thieves. At first he's sickened by the corruption he realises permeates the art world, yet he soon comes to realise that same corruption runs through all parts of society. Changing the hearts of those who use their power to control, hurt and manipulate others is his way at getting revenge on self-serving adults, and to protect those who aren't able to protect themselves.

POWERS/ABILITIES: As a Phantom Thief, Yusuke has an alter ego, "Fox", named after the white kitsune mask and tail that appear on his outfit. The outfit is a manisfestion of his will of rebellion, and his fighting style is based on his self-perception: he favours an elegant combat style, using a katana to slice through enemies and using agility to gracefully dodge and reflect enemy attacks. While favouring physical strength, he can also wield ice magic and cast buffs to increase his allies' agility and accuracy.

His Persona is Kamu Susano-o and has the following skills:

Masukukaja - Buff party agility for 3 turns.
Bufudyne - Heavy Ice damage to 1 foe. Rare chance of Freeze.
High Counter - 20% chance of reflecting a physical attack.
Myriad Slashes - Medium Physical damage to 1 foe 2x to 3x.
Mabufudyne - Heavy Ice damage to all foes. Rare chance of Freeze.
Vorpal Blade - Severe Physical damage to all foes.
Brave Blade - Colossal Physical damage to 1 foe.
Evade Fire - Triple evasion chance against Fire attacks.

[Some time after the trial is over, Yusuke seeks out Mutsu. He wants to express his gratitude, but he also has a few questions, and now is surely his last chance to answer them. So, wherever Mutsu is, Yusuke will call out politely--]

My apologies for disturbing you, but may we talk?

[incidentally, Yusuke is wearing his own katana that he bought from the weapons' store.]

[After the trial, Yusuke seeks out Ichigo. He's carrying his sketchbook, even if he won't let anyone look at its contents.] Excuse me... I'd like to have a word for a moment. Are you all right?

[It hadn't escaped his notice that Ichigo had been overworking himself earlier in the week healing everyone.]

After what happened to Sakura-san, I just wanted to make sure.

[Yusuke approaches Miki whenever she's alone in gay baby jail the pit. He's holding his sketchbook and looking plainly distraught by the turn the trial has taken, but still -- determined.]

Kuroda-san. I've been thinking about your request before... and I turned you down, because I was ashamed about my entry fee.

But if you have some time -- and if you do not mind the poor quality -- I'd like to fulfil it now.

[Yusuke meets everyone in the lobby of Movieplexcinematopia, a large box of popcorn and a drink in his arms and a thoughtful expression on his face as he scans the cinema movie listings. There are some reruns here of The Cake Knight Rises, but there are also unfamiliar titles like Atlantic Rim, Paranormal Inactivity, and Snakes on a Train. He sighs.]

All of these sound like inane action and horror titles... Surely there are movies here with some artistic merit.

[... Maybe it's better if they pick a movie they can all enjoy, rather than some obscure arthouse movie Yusuke would want to watch.]

[Once the erasures are over and done with, and he's taken a little time to process his feelings, Yusuke returns a little while later to track down the Host. He mostly feels a little numb, now, like this is all just a terrible dream, or a mistake. But he can't afford to lose focus, not now, when what happened is a reminder of what's still at stake.

Wherever he finds him, he'll address him politely, tone a little stiff and distant--]
